AM8000系列的AM8100伺服电机专为与EL7201和EL7211伺服端子配合使用而设计。伺服电机的高动态性开辟了许多可能的应用领域：例如在工业机器人的拾放应用中，或者一般在机械工程中，其中紧凑设计和高定位精度是必需的。像AM8xxx系列的所有电机一样，它们采用单电缆技术（OCT）版本，其中电源和反馈结合在一根电缆中。

归功于集成在电机中的值编码器，不再需要回零：驱动器的位置保存在EEPROM中，这对于可调轴是理想的。编码器数据通过电机电缆数字传输到EL7201-0010或EL7211-0010伺服端子。编码器电缆可以省去。伺服端子在Beckhoff控制系统中的完整集成便于调试驱动轴。 AM8xxx系列的所有电机均使用电子铭牌，通过简单读取电机参数，工程成本得以进一步降低。 Beckhoff的TwinCAT自动化软件能够方便地对伺服电机进行参数设置。

AM81xx电机可选配无间隙永磁保持制动器，密封环或羽键槽。它们配备了坚固的旋转旋转编码器，并且为了使用寿命长的目的，开发了用于一般机械工程的大尺寸轴承。匹配齿轮和预制连接电缆完成超紧凑的驱动轴。
